Do you cringe at the thought of buying your wedding dress on the high street? With major fashion trends coming from the high street and celebrities choosing high street dresses over couture, you will be surprised at some of the great dresses you can find at your local stores. Larger department stores have had wedding departments for years but you will also find smaller shops now adding their own lines of wedding dresses at competitive prices. The only downside of course is that you may need to try on quite a few to find one to suit your body shape but isn’t that all part of the fun? I’ve trawled the internet and picked out some of my favourites. Continue reading

Natalie and Michael were married on a lovely sunny day in August at St Mary Magdalene Church followed by a reception at Commissioner’s House in Chatham, Kent. Here are some of the lovely pictures from their day.

I had my first visit to the National Wedding Show at the Birmingham NEC this weekend and I really enjoyed it. There was everything from venues to dresses and yachts to teeth whitening. There was even a Champagne bar and fashion show so there was plenty to see and do. Here are just a couple of my favourite things from the day.
I love love love these shoes! I think these would look fantastic with a short wedding dress or on a vintage themed wedding day. Designed and made by Grace Elizabeth who makes one off pairs of shoes for weddings and special occasions. I also love the fact that each pair of bridal shoes comes with a Silver sixpence in the left shoe to simbolise bringing wealth into the marriage!
I was surprised that there weren’t more cake decorators at the show but I did think The Red Cake Company’s cakes were fantastic! Intricate detailing and a little bit of sparkle made these cakes really stand out from the crowd. These two were my favourite.
These lovely cards are created using your own photograph printed onto a transparent film. The effect is gorgeous as the light really picks out the colours in the pictures and makes for some unique wedding invitations. My photograph doesn’t do them justice but you can find more information at Foto Fusion’s website.
All in all I would visit the show again and had a lovely day. I am considering whether to exhibit with my own wedding stationery next year so if you pop along you might even see me there!

Cadburys Purple was a favourite in 2012 and it is already looking to be a popular choice for 2013 weddings too. Continue reading
